Motor Vehicle (MVA)

It is estimated that there is an auto accident approximately once every four seconds. Although the majority of auto accidents are not fatal, they can still cause a varying degree of injury to the body. The type of injury sustained can vary depending on a number of factors such as the speed of the vehicles involved, the use of seatbelts and airbags, your posture, and where the vehicle was hit. Even if you feel fine after an accident, it is recommended to be evaluated for any collision-related injuries once you are physically able to do so.

Some of the most common collision-related injuries include whiplash, back pain, joint pain and stiffness, bulging discs, and spinal compression. Whiplash is the most common collision-related injury that occurs when the neck is abruptly thrust forward and then backward upon impact. Whiplash damages the soft tissues of the neck and upper back, which causes inflammation, stiffness, pain, limited mobility, and headaches.

In order to ensure that you get the care you need, Premier Neurology accepts PIP cases. Personal Injury Protection (PIP): Is a specific process to motor vehicle accidents ONLY. Depending on the state where the accident happened, you could have PIP coverage ranging from $4500-$12,000, and in some states such as MI, is unlimited. Most insurance companies will not cover your claims if it is associated with accidents and finding a provider that accepts PIP can be tough.

A letter of protection (LOP) is a document prepared by a personal injury lawyer that guarantees reimbursement for the provider once the case is settled. An LOP makes the patient’s life much easier as they don’t have to worry about coming out of pocket for their treatment up front. Once an attorney is obtained and an LOP is drafted, both the patient and the attorney will sign the document and send the LOP to the physician’s office for record. Please contact our office to obtain our own LOP or if your lawyer has a letter, they could fax it or email it to our office.
